Cambridge Foundation School was established on July 4, 1966 by Mrs. Sheila Verma under the guidance of Late Shri. B. S. Murthy, former Minister for Health and Family Planning, Govt. of India. The School was recognized upto the Middle Level in 1969 and was upgraded to the Senior Level in 1979. The school was shifted to its present four acre premises at Rajouri Garden Extension, New Delhi - 110027, on April 29, 1978.
The Cambridge Foundation Education Society started this institution with a mind to promote sound moral, intellectual and physical education. The Cambridge Foundation autobiography states -

Venturing to Attain New Horizons
With a Futuristic Vision,
Taking Challenges Head-on
Aspiring for Perfection
And to do more is the High of Life.
