The festivals of Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti were celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect in our school for Classes 1 to 5. The school premises were beautifully decorated with colourful balloons, artwork, and informative displays highlighting the importance of both occasions.
Students of Classes 1 to 5 participated in various classroom activities such as drawing, colouring, and craft work related to Baisakhi and Dr B. R. Ambedkar. Teachers explained the significance of Baisakhi as a harvest festival and also educated students about the life and contributions of B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Students of Class 1 beautifully decorated dholaks and gained an understanding of the cultural significance of Baisakhi. The celebration was further enriched with music, sangeet, and dance, creating a joyful and engaging learning experience for all.
Students of Class 2 created beautiful golden wheat crafts using yellow paper strips. They carefully cut and pasted the strips to represent ripe wheat fields. The children also made colourful kites and decorated them using ribbons, stones, and bright colours to show the significance of the harvest festival.
The students of Class 3 celebrated Baisakhi with great enthusiasm and creativity. Students created a circular card using coloured sheets as the base. They decorated the card with drawings of Baisakhi elements such as wheat stalks, dhol, bonfire, and kites.
Students of Class 4 created seed craft using peanut shells to depict the harvest season and highlight the significance of Baisakhi. They also engaged in poster making to promote equality on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti.
A special highlight of the celebration was the assembly conducted by the Class 5 students on the school stage. Students shared valuable insights about Dr Ambedkar’s role in promoting equality and justice.
The assembly also included a vibrant Punjabi dance performance celebrating the spirit of Baisakhi, which was enjoyed by all.The celebration was both educational and enjoyable, helping students understand the cultural and social importance of these occasions. Overall, the combined celebration was a grand success, leaving everyone inspired and joyful.
